Women who are forced to leave their home because of spousal abuse usually leave in a hurry with their children in tow. Often when no family is available or they are too scared to involve them in this crisis they must turn to temporary shelters and halfway houses. These solutions are short term and do not meet the complex needs of permanent safe housing, counseling for them and their children and re-acquiring the basic needs for setting up a new home. This form of abuse is more widespread than most people realize, it is a silent killer. South Carolina is ranked number one in women being killed by their spouse or boyfriend. Every 9 seconds a women is beaten in the United States Between 3 and 4 Million women are battered every year 85% - 95% of all domestic violence victims are women Domestic Violence is the leading cause of injury to women AIDV The saddest part about this is that most of the women return to their abusers. Help us help them break the cycle of abuse. This program is designed to help women re-establish a household by providing furnishings that were probably left behind. Beds, cooking utensils, furniture such as couches and chairs are an essential part of making a house a home. Please pray for us, your prayers are needed and very important.
